Wander the skies with your feet on the ground…
Cosmic Brews with Prathamesh Jaju
A 2-night Astrophotography Workshop
Venue
Blyton Bungalow, Poomaale Estate, Coorg
Date
26th-28th May 2023
Have you often found yourself clicking images and flipping pages trying to uncover the mysteries of the cosmos? Here’s the right place to be!
Join the Astrophotography workshop in Coorg, hosted by Beforest in collaboration with Prathatmesh Jaju.
An 18-year-old astronomy enthusiast and photographer from Pune, Prathamesh began his visual journey to outer space in 2017 when he joined the Jyotirvidya Parisanstha - India’s oldest association for astronomers. His passion for capturing celestial objects drove him to create the clearest picture of the moon till date, which then went on to feature in National Geographic - a milestone in his space adventure.
He believes that the beauty of the outer world can be experienced and translated even with the most basic (but right) tools. With feet on the ground, head in the stars and visuals of phenomena occurring several lightyears ahead, he looks at his photographic space explorations as portals of time travel, and his telescope - as a time machine.
Ready to time travel with him? Your station awaits!

Spread across 128 acres, the Poomaale Estate is a wilderness collective set in the midst of the Western Ghats.
The estate is located at Kakkabe, Coorg (1040 meters above sea level). All the produce at this estate grows naturally, without the use of artificial pest control and with limited external intervention. It is also home to diverse wildlife ranging from elephants, deers, and boars, to many endemic species of plants and trees, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, spiders, and more. Their undistributed natural habitats make up at least 50% of the land.
Blyton Bungalow is an environmentally-friendly villa with rooms overlooking the forests of the Poomaale Estate. Built with natural and locally-sourced materials, it blends beautifully into the surrounding wilderness. A paradise for nature lovers, it offers a perfect stay for a variety of activities - nature walks, jungle hikes, treks, bonfire nights or simply stargazing!
